Do you need to take charge of your health?
Are you overdoing it? Trying to do too much?
Summer is a really busy time for most people so I am going to keep this blog short and sweet.
August is a lovely month but it can also be the most tiring especially for those of you who have children. Long school holidays, juggling work and childcare, endless lists, packing for holidays, never ending piles of laundry, parties, late nights, not enough sleep and lots and lots of cooking.
It is very important that that you realise that YOUR health is important during these busy times. Otherwise you will start September feeling exhausted, tired and burnt out.
So, here are my 5 Top Tips for feeling your best this summer:
Eat a diet based on whole foods - when you can, cook using whole foods and use recipes that provide sound nutrition and taste great
Keep hydrated - so important especially in the sunshine and if you’re drinking alcohol. Drinking enough water is the one easy thing that will help to keep your health in check (2)
Make your health a priority - start by making small changes Do one thing at a time, e.g. make a goal such as eating more vegetables
Exercise - exercise or move every day, even if that means going for a brisk walk. Try to do something every day to help to maintain your energy levels, improve sleep and keep you in a good mood (3)
I know these tips seem very basic but good health doesn’t have to be complicated. In my experience, often the basics get forgotten about, you need to these right first and they can often be the most effective changes you will make.
If you need to reset your health. Don’t worry help is at hand.
