Green Smoothie

This is a great smoothie to have at the start of the day as part of breakfast or even as a snack.

Unlike store-brought smoothies that are often full of sugar (even if its natural sugar it is still sugar), this juice is full of vegetables which will provide an abundance of phytochemicals, vitamins, minerals as well as helping to balance your blood sugar levels. You will have improved energy levels and feel full of life.

This recipe will make a 500ml glass of juice

Ingredients:

¼ cucumber

 ½ courgette

4 leaves of cavolo nero or a handful of green kale

1 broccoli stem

1 lemon, pith removed

1 apple or pear

20 mint leaves

A large handful of ice

½ avocado

1 tsp of super green powder (optional)

Method:

  • Wash and scrub all the vegetables but don’t peel. Put everything through your juicer.
  • Blend the juice in the liquidiser/nutribullet with the ice, avocado and super green powder until smooth.
