Green Smoothie

This is a great smoothie to have at the start of the day as part of breakfast or even as a snack.

Unlike store-brought smoothies that are often full of sugar (even if its natural sugar it is still sugar), this smoothie is full of vegetables which will provide an abundance of phytochemicals, vitamins, minerals as well as helping to balance your blood sugar levels. You will have improved energy levels and feel full of life.

This recipe will make a 500ml glass of juice

Ingredients:

A large bunch of spinach 

A large bunch of kale

1 banana 

½ avocado

1 lime 

1 banana

20 mint leaves

1 tbsp chia seeds

1 tbsp flax seeds

200ml of almond milk or coconut water

200ml filtered water

A small handful of ice

1 tsp of super green powder (optional)

Method:

  • Wash all the vegetables, and squeeze the juice from the lime.

  • Blend the ingredients in a liquidiser/nutribullet with the super green powder until smooth, adding a little more coconut water/almond milk if necessary.
