HOLIDAY KIT ESSENTIALS

Updated: Aug 2, 2022

Now it’s holiday season it seems a good time to talk about some travel health essentials that you may want to consider taking on holiday with you. It can be all too easy to want to take everything in your first aid kit, so hopefully these suggestions may help you.

Many people take buckets of lotions and potions with them so I want to make things easy for you. Thisis some essential information and items that will help you to fight off any nasties whilst you are on holiday:

Sun protection - a lot of sunscreens on the market are full of chemicals and so I recommend P20 sun cream or Jason for natural, chemical free brands

Sun burn - Aloe Vera to soothe any sun burnt skin. Little tip - keep it in the fridge as it will be more cooling when you apply it

Tummy bugs - Attack tummy bugs from several angles

· Probiotics - a must have if you have a tummy bug to help increase the number of beneficial bacteria to fight off any bad bugs. Choose a brand which contains several billion bacteria per capsule such as Renewlife, Bio-Kult and I take Optibac for the kids

· Oregano oil is a powerful essential oil which is antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal so can fight off bacterial, viral and yeast infections. Take orally mixed in water (1 drop in 500ml water). However, I would not recommend oregano oil for women who are pregnant or breast feeding and if on medication you will need to check for any possible contraindications

· Digestive enzymes to help hit it on the head fast

Mosquito prevention - Many strong mosquito repellent contains potentially toxic ingredients however if you are concerned about what you put on your skin have a look at using essential oils instead. Melaleuca (tea tree oil) and citronella can really help to prevent yourself being bitten. Of course, along with long sleeves and trousers, avoiding being out at dusk and sleeping under a mosquito net.

Mosquito bites - Lavender essential oil. If mosquitos love you and you can find that you are scratching at any bites, I suggest you use essential oils and you may find you no longer itch.

For any trouble spots I recommend calendula cream or Manuka honey gel - both really good natural products

Liver care - if you are drinking or have a big night out, take some milk thistle to help your liver detoxify along with some high dose vitamin C

Please note this post is not a sponsored post and I am not paid to endorse any brands. These are just some essential things that I wanted to share with you that may help you whilst away on holiday.
